RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE: Deparaffinize and hydrate to distilled water. Stain 10 minutes. Rinse in distilled water. Differentiate in glycerine-ether solution, diluted 5 to 10 times with distilled water for 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until medium blue. Wash thoroughly in water for 2 to 5 minutes, then blot. Dehydrate and clear in xylene 2-3 changes and mount.
RESULTS: Mast cell granules stain red while others stain greenish blue.
